2025 Wolfpack Spring Training Starts April 5; Regional on May 18

The 2025 Wolfpack Spring Training starts on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

This is a series of Saturday training events focusing on four of the five disciplines of Modern Pentathlon, including laser-run, fencing, and ninja warrior training.

Schedule:
1-3 pm: Laser-Run and Fencing Training at Live Oak Park
(641 Moreland Way; Santa Clara, CA).
4-5 pm: Ninja Training at Black Urban Barn
(148 E. Virginia St.; San Jose, CA).

The ninja warrior trainings are coached by Earl Hooks, four-time competitor on the American Ninja Warrior television show. Participants will receive group coaching from Earl, focusing on strength, flexibility, and other exercises that are needed to master the standard Modern Pentathlon obstacles.

All of the summer training events require Wolfpack membership, which also entitles members to receive a 10% discount on Wolfpack trainings and events.

The fencing training also requires an Amateur Athletics Union (AAU) Athlete Fencing Membership, which can be purchased here: https://aausports.org/Join-AAU.

Swimming training will not be provided in the Spring training series, but it may be offered in the Summer training series.

2025 Wolfpack Regional

The 2025 Wolfpack Regional Pentathlon will be held on May 18, 2025.

The Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon, sanctioned by USA Pentathlon Multisport (USAPM) will be held on May 18, 2025.

This is an all-day event in which participants have an opportunity to compete in all five disciplines of the Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon as it will be featured at the LA 2028 Games.  These sports include ninja obstacle course racing, fencing, swimming, and laser-run (running and laser pistol shooting).

Competition Venues:
Obstacle Course Race: Ninja Republic in San Mateo, CA
All Other Events: Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA

Schedule:
8:00 am – 11:00 am: Obstacle Course Race at Ninja Republic
11:30 am – 2:30 pm: Fencing at Sequoia High School Main Gym
2:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Swimming at Sequoia High School Pool
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Laser-Run at Sequoia High School Stadium

This event is suitable for people of all genders, abilities, and ages (7+).  No previous experience is needed.

For youth athletes, the 2025 Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon will serve as a selection competition for Team USA for the 2025 UIPM Youth and Junior World Championships.

Participants will gain valuable experience for the 2025 USAPM National Championships, which will be held in the Fall (location and date TBD).

For purposes of division assignment, the age of an athlete is their age as of December 31, 2025.
